Hello Folks!

It’s been some time that I’ve written about the cloud buzz. We’re working hard to show you that tomorrow’s success begins today.

It’s all about believing in your dreams and taking a leap to achieve them. Keep watching this space as the energy levels rise.

With the innovative things that CES had to bring, technology is scaling a height that is unimaginable, especially cloud computing. This buzz word has immensely become an attraction, no denying the fact that it has multiple benefits to offer.

Digital storytelling is also venturing into the cloud business. A start-up called tumblecloud is launching the public beta test today for its easy way to create high-quality slideshows. Founder and CEO Brian Andreas describes the company’s “clouds” as a new form digital storytelling, but they’re probably easier to think of as multimedia slideshows. tumblecloud breaks the process down into three steps — grab, mix, and share. They allow you to pull photos, music, and other media from your computer or from other online services; use a simple drag-and-drop interface to assemble everything into a presentation; then share it with other users. nivio is already there! Visit www.nivio.com for details.

Cloud computing is having an impact on technology providers for obvious reasons. UK-based unified communications (UC) specialist, Actimax and IT solutions provider, Network Resource Group (NRG) have announced a merger, to form CloudXL. The reform is designed to make the benefits of cloud computing “more accessible to a larger number of UK organisations”.

Another cloud-based integrated development environment, Cloud9 IDE announced the availability of Windows Azure deployment from the IDE. Cloud9 made its announcement today at the Node Summit in San Francisco. The integration offers Node.js developers the advantages of a cloud-based development environment paired with the scalability and interoperability of Microsoft’s Windows Azure cloud computing platform.

Announcements galore! Catbird also announced that the next generation of its award-winning vSecurity® 5.0 will empower IT managers with the control and assurance they need to capitalize on the benefits and cost-savings of virtualized and cloud computing. Security and compliance are the principal objections affecting virtual and cloud rollouts. Its vCompliance® engine monitors and enforces virtualized data center compliance with PCI, FISMA, NIST, HIPAA and other standards for regulated industries looking to take advantage of virtualized infrastructure for their mission-critical computing.

6fusion, a provider of utility-metered public, private and hybrid cloud infrastructure management software and services was also in the league of announcements today. The company announced the release of its next generation UC6 Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) federation platform. The company is previewing the technology at this week’s Cloud Expo Europe with general availability coming on February 1.

Providing security has been talked about the most in the phenomenon of cloud computing. Less has been talked about disaster recovery in the cloud platform. BUMI (Backup My Info!), provider of managed online backup and recovery solutions for small to mid-sized businesses, today announced the availability of BUMI Cloud Recovery (BCR), a disaster recovery solution that allows companies to restore their servers into BUMI’s secure virtual environment within a short period of time after a systemic failure.

With many companies coming into the cloud computing world and the existence of big names like IBM and Microsoft, the cloud strategies are becoming rosy. But given the lack of real numbers, it’s hard to tell if that’s the case. These two incumbent tech giants, IBM and Microsoft, which both hosted earnings calls last week, are under the microscope as they navigate the transition from client-server computing to the cloud services model pioneered by younger competitors like Amazon and Google. Think about that!

You don’t want to miss the excitement. There’s a lot more that I have to unveil! Come back tomorrow for details to a secret party in San Francisco on January 26, 2012. For now, RSVP @ secretparty@nivio.com.
